The Ponte Vecchio is a medieval stone closed-spandrel segmental arch bridge spanning Florence's Arno River. Unlike all the other bridges in Florence, Ponte Vecchio was not destroyed by the German army during their retreat at the advance of the British in August 1944. The name translates as 'old bridge' which prompted the naming of this handle range, with its beautifully beaten look.
